Happenings – Skipper Innovations is Alive!
Well, it has been a LONG TIME since I've actually posted anything here on the blog. I've kept the site updated, but so much has changed since the last time I posted! For those who don't know, my family and I moved from Murfreesboro, TN to Rome, GA in June of last year (2015) to work with pastors Douglas & Debbie Crumbly at Journey Church. You can read more about all of that transition at our mission website [hohnet.com][2]. We are the Associate Pastors at Journey, and our main goal here is to raise up the Hispanic arm of the church, Journey en Español.
I wasn't sure at the time what the future of Skipper Innovations would be, but things are working out well, and I will be continuing this venture along with our work at the church. My goal with Skipper Innovations is to do two things:
- Web Design/Development
- Audio/Visual/Lighting Systems Installations/Setup & Training
Latest Web Development
Even though I haven't actively promoted Skipper Innovations, I actually have been quite busy designing multiple websites over the past few months.

After arriving in Rome, I completely overhauled our church website, journeyrome.com. I put a lot of work into that site, and am extremely proud of it! We decided on new colors, I designed the new logo, and put together a site that is great looking, socially connected, and easily maintained and updated by multiple people! It is a WordPress site. I've set it up to be extremely easy to upload Audio/Video sermons, add Events with maps that automagically appear when putting in an address in the backend, Staff pics and profiles are easily added and updated through the backend. Last fall I also built a site for a church in Kennesaw, Georgia, [Charis Church][6]. It has a lot of the same features as our website at Journey. I've updated our mission's website [hohnet.com][7] and THIS website within the past year… and I am also working on a secret, extremely exciting online project that I will reveal soon!
### Audio/Video/Lighting System
I've also completely overhauled the Audio/Video/Lighting System at Journey. It's quite amazing what we have accomplished with very little money. I want to write more about all of that in another post very soon, with pics, videos and details. I'll just say this. We now have a completely digital Sound System at the church, we have dynamic lighting for both the main auditorium and the Youth/Hispanic rooms controlled from their respective sound booths, and we are now setup for live streaming video of our services through the web! _(This is setup and has been tested, but is will not be completely implemented until later this month)_
