This Privacy Policy explains how Skipper Innovations (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit or interact with https://skipperinnovations.com (the “Site”).

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of personal information:

1. Device Information

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect information about your device, including:

  • Web browser, IP address, and time zone
  • Cookies installed on your device
  • Details about your interactions with the Site (e.g., pages viewed, referring sources, and search terms)
We collect Device Information using technologies such as:
  • Cookies: Data files placed on your device. Learn more about cookies at http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
  • Log Files: Data such as IP address, browser type, referring pages, and timestamps.
  • Web Beacons, Tags, and Pixels: Electronic tools to track browsing behavior.

2. Chat Assistant Information

Skip is an AI assistant. When you use it, we collect the messages you send, the answers it provides, and a small amount of information needed to operate and improve the service:

  • Chat messages you send and the assistant’s responses
  • A random session identifier used to maintain conversation context
  • The page you’re viewing, timestamps, response time, and basic technical details about whether the request succeeded

Your message and a limited amount of conversation history are sent to OpenAI to generate a response. We ask OpenAI not to store each response (store: false). OpenAI still processes the information to provide the service and may retain limited data under its standard API data-handling and abuse-monitoring practices.

Chat records are stored in Cloudflare D1 and scheduled for deletion 30 days after the conversation’s last activity. A private copy may also be sent to our Slack workspace so our team can review Skip’s responses and help with your request. Those copies follow the workspace’s retention settings and may be kept longer than the D1 record.

We don’t store your raw IP address, browser user agent, or referring URL in the chat database. Cloudflare may process connection information to serve and protect the Site. Please don’t submit passwords, payment details, health information, confidential business information, or other sensitive information through Skip.

3. Additional Information

If you submit the contact form, we store the name, email address, subject, and message you provide in Cloudflare D1 so we can respond. A copy of the submission may also be sent to our private Slack workspace.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Communicate with you and provide customer support
  • Screen for potential fraud and security risks
  • Improve our Site's functionality and user experience
  • Deliver targeted marketing based on your preferences

Sharing Your Information

We may share your personal information with trusted third parties to help us provide our services. For example:

Do Not Track

We do not currently alter our data collection when we detect a “Do Not Track” signal from your browser.

Data Retention

We retain your information as long as necessary for business purposes or legal obligations:

  • Chat conversations and associated operational metadata: scheduled for deletion from the active database after 30 days, unless a longer period is required for security, legal obligations, or an explicitly requested business follow-up. Limited infrastructure backup copies may persist according to Cloudflare’s backup retention. Copies sent to the private Slack workspace follow that workspace’s retention settings and aren’t governed by the D1 deletion schedule.
  • Contact form submissions: retained as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage the business relationship, and meet legal obligations. Slack notification copies follow the workspace’s retention settings.
  • Analytics data: Retained for historical analysis and business intelligence purposes
  • Other personal information: Retained as long as necessary for the purposes collected
