WordPress Basics & Backend Setup

Okay, let's get started! We have our Domain Name, and we have installed WordPress on our Server... NOW we can start building that amazing website. In this video, we will begin that process.

Basic overview of Wordpress

Log in and create a username and password... DO NOT forget these!

If and when you log out, you can log in once again by going to https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin and you can log in once again from there.

Plugins

  • Activate all installed plugins
  • Install Extras (Church Theme Content)
    • Update any necessary plugins
  • Install Other Needed Plugins
    • Current Year and Copyright Shortcodes
    • Encrypt Email
    • EWWW Image Optimizer
  • (NOTE*) If you would like to put your website in maintenance mode so that no one else can see your site until it's finish, download, activate and configure the "Maintenance" plugin by "fruitfulcode". You will also find that in the Add Plugins menu.

  • Activate Knapstack Theme
  • Overview of Knapstack Theme
    • Look at Demo Site already Built
      • We’re going to build this site… Why? Because This is how you are going to learn to do this… and then you are free. You can do anything once you’ve figured this out.
